Amadou Gon Coulibaly

Amadou Gon Coulibaly (10 February 1959 – 8 July 2020) was an Ivorian politician who served as Prime Minister of Côte d'Ivoire from January 2017 until his death in July 2020. He was the ruling party's candidate in the 2020 Ivorian presidential election and had been among the favourites to win. He had earlier served as the presidency's secretary general under President Alassane Ouattara from 2011 to 2017.

== Career ==

In the early 1990s, Amadou Gon Coulibaly worked as a technical adviser to Prime Minister Alassane Ouattara. Coulibaly was a member of the National Assembly from 1995 to 1999, and then from 2011 until his death. He also served as Mayor of Korhogo.

Coulibaly was minister of agriculture from October 2002 to February 2010. After Alassane Ouattara became president, Coulibaly served as secretary general of the presidency from 2011 to January 2017.

President Ouattara appointed Coulibaly as prime minister on 10 January 2017. The composition of his new government was announced on 11 January.
